Testimony is underway at the Orange County Courthouse in the trial of a man charged with injury
to the elderly. John Wesley Smith III is accused of attacking and beating his mother this past
September because she refused to give him money for drugs. Wanda Smith suffered facial trauma
in the attack. Smith faces up to life in prison if he is convicted.
