An inmate that escaped in Jefferson County yesterday is back in custody. Robert Lee Durant
had just received an eight year sentence for possession of a controlled substance when he
assaulted a deputy and broke free as he was being transported to a holding cell to be transported
to jail. He was taken back into custody around 11:30 last night. He is facing additional charges.
