The DPS reports a Beaumont man was killed last night in a one vehicle wreck on I-10 in
Jefferson County. 20-year old Tommy Lee Benitez was driving east on the interstate , about
10 miles west of Beaumont, when he lost control and struck a guardrail. Benitez was
pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car, 20-year old Esmeralda Reyna of
Beaumont, was transported to Baptist Hospital with minor injuries.
