A ban on outdoor burning has been ordered, effective immediately, for a specific area located in
Emergency Services District 5, Sour Lake. This area includes Highway 105/Vaglica Road, east
to the Hardin/Jefferson County line and comprises the subdivisions of Countrywood Estates and
Pinewood Estates. There has been an issue with multiple residents in this area attempting to
burn debris removed from their homes and other materials, which creates a hazard to adjacent
homes due to the large amount of debris.
