Vidor police have released the name of a bicyclist that was struck and killed by a car Tuesday
night. 65-year old Wesley Ray Hampshire, of Kountze, was riding his bike in the 1000 block
of South Main Street when he was hit by the car. Hampshire was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing reflecting clothing and his bicycle did not have lights. No charges have
been filed against the driver at this time.
