Beaumont police are investigating a homicide. Sgt. Coedy Guidry tells KLVI the shooting
occurred around 11:30 this morning in the 1100 block of Church Street. A 57-year old woman
was shot in the chest. She was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital where she died.
Police do have a suspect. He is described as a black man, 30-40 years old, blue plaid shirt,
with a short afro. He was last seen running south from the residence. Anyone with any
information is asked to call the Beaumont Police Department or Southeast Texas Crime
