A new trial date has been set for a Sour Lake man accused of crashing his car into the back
of another car killing a Port Arthur man. Joseph Brady Carney is charged with the September
2016 death of Mauricio Cordoba-Gomez in Port Arthur. The trial was set to begin this week
in Judge Raquel West’s courtroom at the Jefferson County Courthouse. Due to an illness with
a witness, the trail will begin on August 13th.
