John William King, one of three men convicted in the 1998 dragging death of James Byrd Jr. in
Jasper, will remain on death row. The U.S. Supreme Court has denied an appeal from King.
Lawrence Russell Brewer was executed in 2011 and Shawn Berry is serving a life sentence.
An execution date for King has not been set.
