The Sabine River Authority has 11 gate open to four feet. This will cause moderate flooding
along the Sabine River. In Orange County, areas east of Highway 87 and north of I-10 should
make preparations. Sandbags are available at precinct barns on Highway 87 North, 2505 FM
1442, and at 345 Claiborne St in Vidor. In Newton County, sandbags are available at precinct
barns in Deweville, Burkeville, and Bleakwood. Residents are asked to bring their own shovels
to fill the sandbags. The rain has also caused flooding on the Neches River with peaking at
8.4 feet expected on Tuesday.
