The Beaumont/Port Arthur area is reporting some of the highest gas prices in the state of Texas
this morning with an average price of $1.58 a gallon, which is down three cents from last week.
A year ago on the first of May, we were paying $2.55. This morning’s statewide average is
$1.50, which is down six cents from last Friday. The national average is down a penny to $1.77.
