Gas prices took a big jump over the past week. The average price in the Beaumont/Port Arthur
area is $2.37 a gallon, which is up 13 cents from last week. The statewide average is up 14 cents
to $2.40 a gallon. The national average for a gallon of gas is $2.69, which is up nine cents. These
