Port Arthur man faces up to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to fraud related
to Hurricane Harvey. 50-year old Jose Luis Carillo applied for FEMA assistance for a damaged
home in Port Arthur he claimed was his primary residence. He collected nearly $24,000 in
FEMA assistance. An investigation revealed Carillo moved from that residence a month prior
to the storm hitting Southeast Texas. He will be sentenced on a later date.
