The punishment phase in the trial of a man convicted of intoxication manslaughter in the death of
Beaumont police officer Sheena Yarbrough-Powell resumes this morning at the Jefferson County
Courthouse. 20-year old Luis Torres faces up to life in prison. He was driving the wrong way on
Highway 69 in August of 2020 colliding head on with a Beaumont police unit killing Officer
Yarbrough-Powell and injuring her partner Gabriel Fells.
