Food Benefit Funding Coming To Texas

(Austin, TX)-- More than 341-million-dollars in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program food benefits is on the way to Texans for the month of December.Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Friday that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will provide the SNAP benefits, which are expected to help more than a million Texas families. The state agency received approval from the federal Department of Agriculture to extend the maximum allowable amount of SNAP benefits to recipients based on family size. All SNAP households will receive a minimum of 95-dollars in emergency allotments.
