Another Insurance Company Leaving Louisiana

Baton Rouge, LA) -- Tens of thousands of Louisiana homeowners are about to be left holding the bag as another insurance company pulls out of the state. United Property & Casualty announced its plans on Wednesday to stop writing policies in Louisiana. The Florida-based company is sending non-renewal notices to about 33-thousand customers whose policies are scheduled to end in 2023. UPC is believed to be at least the tenth insurance company to bail out of Louisiana this year. Three hurricanes in two years prompted the insurers to call it quits.
