An Orange County deputy was struck by debris from a door that a home owner fired a shot
through this morning. The deputy responded to the home on South Greenwood in Orangfield
after receiving a call of a burglary. The deputy kicked the door when he could not get a
response at the home. At that time a woman inside the home fired a shot thinking the deputy was
an intruder. The deputy was transported to the hospital as a precaution. Orangefield ISD was on a
lockdown during the incident. The investigation continues.
