Gas prices have dropped over the past week. The average price in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area is
$3.18, which is down six cents from last week. A year ago the average price was $3.76. The statewide
average dropped 11 cents to $3.21 a gallon. Triple A Texas reports the national average for a gallon of
gas dropped six cents to $3.62.
