The trial of a man accused in the death of his girlfriend’s 11-month old baby is underway in Jefferson
County. 25-year old Bryce Lawrence Cesar is charged with injury to a child and aggravated assault. In
December of 2021, Kaoir Stevens was brought to the hospital for choking. The child died later that day.
Stevens admitted to violently shaking the baby while being interviewed by detectives. The trial is in
Judge Raquel West’s courtroom.
