A 17-year old that had earlier pleaded guilty has been sentenced to 25 years in prison. Deamonte
Antwon Chopane and a 14-year old led Beaumont police on a chase in a stolen pickup in Marh of
last year. They eventually crashed and were arrested following a foot pursuit. Chopane was sentenced
by Judge Raquel West to two years for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 10 years for evading
arrest, and 25 years for aggravated robbery. The sentences will run concurrently.
