So today is seven years since “The big blow”. Hurricane Rita, which brought us all back to reality in 2005.

I still see blue roofs on homes that make me wonder if they were from Ike or Rita. We have been blessed this year and for the last four. I think of the folks in south Louisiana that were so unfortunate this year. Southeast Texas has been my home for almost half a century. I’ve seen an ice storm, five or six hurricanes, of which most were of no consequence. One thing is for sure. I will never forget the way all of our people, neighbors or not, pitched in to help. The faith based organizations were wonderful as we knew they would be. There was lots of help from lot of good folks. The best folks in the world are here in southeast Texas …..and that’s no BULL!!
