If the numbers add up, it’s another sad year for the economy. Jobless rates that were posted this morning showed 7.9. that’s up. The labor department counters by saying more people were “looking for jobs”. So what does that mean? If you are selling cars and the boss says “How many cars did you sell today”?  And the answer is “none but a lot of people came to look”, will that make the boss happy? Not likely.  If everybody comes to the restaurant and only orders water, how good is that?

We hear the president saying that things are so much better than four years ago. Really? In late 2007, the market was up, just like now. The difference is 4.5 against 7.9. Do the math!!! Oh, by the way. The president has told us we need to be an oil free society and green things up. Ask the folks in New York and New Jersey how they feel about that when they are trying to get enough gas to get to work or put in their generators. They’re turning green all right. With envy, wishing they were here in Texas where we have gas.
