Michelangelo Hotel Room
Al with Esat Aloshi at Rosie O'Grady's
We always stay at the Michelangelo. Everything is around
Food: Carmine’s 44th and Broadway. They tell you to split entrees…because they are so huge. Salad for one and pasta for one will still leave food on your plate. Be prepared to wait a while. Its popular.
Carnegie Deli. .a NY must. Huge sandwiches but very good. Landmark place. 52nd /7th. Alternative with great desserts, Roxy Deli. 47th on TS.
Ben Bensons for steak but I prefer Uncle Jacks 56th st. or Ruth Chris….yes …Ruth Chris, next door to the hotel.
Ellen’s starlight diner, brk, lunch, or dinner. Singing waiters cheap food. Great experience.
Chinese…WO Pah….(call me about this one)
Get the 27.50 subway card….good for a week, will save you over a hundred dollars or more on cab fare and it’s fun and safe.
Food: McCormick and Kuleto’s. waterfront. Great seafood, a tad pricy, entrees around 25 to 30 but every table has a great view of the water including
ELO trading post. On Sutter. Most magnificent Asian fusion food around. Butternut squash dumplings and ribs the size of
Uncle Vitos. Pasta and ravioli and home made pizza. Less than ten bucks and cheap wine and beer. Bush @ Mason.
Sears….like the store …..on Sutter. Home of silver dollar pancakes, great breakfast, super reuben sandwiches and full meals at a very low price.
Aliottos, Scomas, seafood at the wharf…lot of money touristy, good..but touristy.
Clam chowder in the bowl which is made of cut out sourdough bread. Five bucks and great...Pier 39 at the Wharf.
If you are going to
Texans are out. So what’s New? However, it was on this date in 1973 that the Miami Dolphins finished at 17-0. Of special note is the fact that the Super Bowl was played on the second Sunday of January as opposed to February. Baseball concluded in October, not the middle of November. The NBA finished about a month earlier and it’s not just in sports. Everything takes longer now. Longer to get to work, longer for kids on vacation, longer to get any kind of legislation passed in congress and much, much longer to get a raise. (If ever). In our hurry up society, it takes longer to get a Burger at Mc Donald’s than forty years ago. It takes longer to get a divorce and longer to try a case in court. It is faster to file your income tax and get a refund(if you have one coming) but it takes longer for the red light to change, about the same time to change a diaper(I am told) and about the same time to fall in love(if you happen to be looking for said product). All in all, time passes so fast we are here in 2013 and before you know it will be shopping for more things like the ones we have not paid off from this last Christmas. Speaking of which….it’s time to take the tree and lights down.
