Our latest contraction is the economy. I didn’t think we could spin the financial picture any more than it’s already been spun. But this latest spin could weave a suit of clothes. Although the GDP went down for the first time in a few years, those witty jackals on capitol hill proclaimed it a good thing. Yep. That’s what they did yesterday. I hope they are right. I sincerely hope they are. I hope the housing bust is close to being over. I hope the market is right. I hope more jobs are on the way. I hope. That’s called hope for change. Because the hope and change we have been eyeballing is more of one, than the other. I’ll let you figure that one out. The president is up on gun control and immigration but employment is still at close to eight percent. Can the house, the senate and the president fix it? Time will tell. As one aptly put it yesterday, referring to the economy taking a little dip and calling it a retraction: “Another contraction like this and we’re likely to give birth to a baby recession”.
